10 Years ago

I can't hardly believe that 10 years ago I was having my 1st baby. I was so excited to meet this little creature inside me that moved around to and fro. I had washed all these little boy clothes for him anxiously waiting to see him. He was due on Valentines Day. After my weekly visit with Dr. Lowder my blood pressure was really high so he order an induction the following morning at 7am. All night all I could think about was I was finally going to meet this precious little baby. I got up bright and early and Mike and I went to Triage to be admitted. At 8am Dr. Lowder had broke my water and they started me with Pitocin (sp). I tried to be tough and went all day laboring (back labor) without an epidural. My sweet Mother rubbed my back non-stop as I tried to tuff it out. Finally at 5pm after only dilating 2cm I asked for an epidural. Three hours later I was ready to push. After pushing for 38 minutes Collin Michael Law entered into this world at 8:38pm on February 10th. He had an elongated head from having to use the vacuum and was slightly blue. They took him to the NICU but only for 20 minutes or so and brought him back to me. He was perfect! I learned so much on how to be a Mother raising Collin. He was a VERY colicky baby and learned that I had to be careful with what I ate. Each night he would scream from 7ish till 11pm or 12am. I quickly learned patience and unconditional love.
Now that sweet little baby is my 10 year old. It's hard to believe it has been that long already. I can't imagine my life without my sweet boy. We went thru some tough times together. Divorcing his Dad, losing my job, losing my Mom and his Grandma, losing my boyfriend (Bruce) to getting married 9 months later. Getting 2 sisters that love him dearly. Happy Birthday beautiful boy. I love you more then you will ever know.
